COVINGTON — Mrs. Bytha M. Hershberger, age 87, of Covington, died at 8:25 p.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill., where she had been a patient two weeks. Mrs. Hershberger was born April 5, 1883, in Troy Township, Fountain County, the daughter of Andrew and Sarah Longnecker Campbell. She was married on Aug. 8, 1909, to Harry Hershberger, who preceded her in death in 1930. She was a resident of Covington most of her life. She was a member of the Osborne Prairie Church, northeast of Covington. Surviving Mrs. Hershberger are: two daughters, Mrs. Goldie Yerkes of Tilton, Ill., and Mrs. Fred (Gladys) Hobson of Covington; two sons, George of Covington and Roland of Veedersburg, four grandchildren, including Norman Dale Hughes, whom she reared; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Moore of Hillsboro Rt. 1 and Miss Georgia Campbell of Veedersburg Rt. 2; and one brother, Andrew Campbell of Veedersburg Rt. 2. She was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, one granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Osborne Prairie Church. The Rev. Ernest Moore officiated and burial was in the Osborne Prairie Cemetery. The Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home of Covington was in charge of arrangements.
